Une année marquée par une production très synthétique, du prog rock vieillissant et de la pop ultra-efficace, où "Thriller" domine les charts mais dont on se souvient aussi pour les Cure, Kate Bush, Bruce Springsteen, le Clash, Prince et Duran Duran.
